Connect ChatGPT
Use PugBase from ChatGPT on the web. Add PugBase as a custom MCP server once, sign in with your PugBase account, then mention @PugBase in any chat to search, read and write notes in your workspace.
Before you start
- A ChatGPT plan that allows custom MCP servers (OpenAI lists Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu). If the Add menu on the Plugins page has no Add custom MCP server entry, your plan does not have it yet.
- On a Business or Enterprise workspace an owner has to allow custom MCP servers first.
- A PugBase account that is a member of the workspace you want to use. No API key is needed: ChatGPT signs in with OAuth.
Add PugBase as a custom MCP server
Open chatgpt.com/plugins, press Add in the top right corner and choose Add custom MCP server.
Name it PugBase, paste the server URL below under Connection, and pick OAuth as the authentication. Leave Client ID and Client Secret empty: ChatGPT registers itself with PugBase.

Accept the warning (I understand and want to continue) and press Create as a plugin.
Install it and sign in to PugBase
Open the Personal tab on the Plugins page and press + on the PugBase card. ChatGPT opens the PugBase sign-in page: sign in, choose the workspace ChatGPT may use, and press Allow.
Access can be revoked any time from Settings -> Developer in PugBase, under connected apps.
Use it in a chat
In the prompt box type @ and pick PugBase, then ask in plain words. ChatGPT chooses the right tool by itself. A few things to try:
- @PugBase find my notes about the checkout flow
- @PugBase summarize the plan for the mobile app and tell me what is still open
- @PugBase save this as a new note titled Meeting notes 3 Nov
- @PugBase what did the team decide about the payment provider?
What ChatGPT can do
- Find and read: search notes, open a note, read its comments and images.
- Write: create a note, append to an existing one, save the result of work it did for you.
- Plans: list plan notes and check how far a plan has progressed.
Everything stays inside the workspace you allowed. To reach another workspace, open the plugin in ChatGPT (Plugins -> PugBase -> Manage), press Connect another account and pick that workspace.
If your ChatGPT looks different
- You see Settings -> Connectors instead of a Plugins page: turn on Developer Mode under Advanced, press Create, paste the same URL and choose OAuth. In a chat, pick PugBase from the + menu under Developer Mode.
- The Create button is disabled: your plan or workspace does not allow custom MCP servers yet.
- ChatGPT answers without using PugBase: mention @PugBase in the prompt, or enable the plugin for that chat from the + menu.
You want a smaller tool set (notes and plans only, no git or agent tools): use this URL instead.
